A rare and outstanding example of a 1930s US public Health Service Officers’ bullion eagle with left facing head pre 1941 regulations. Beautiful detailing to the wool backing of the eagle which follows the contour of the eagle's wings and heads rather than the standard oval contour seen on most eagles. Detailed embroidery on the eagle shield and Caduceus, including red tread tongues on the Serpent also note the smaller size of the eagle and shield itself.

This is a truly exceptional pre-regulation change piece. The left-facing head and unique contour backing mark this as a premium, early insignia for the serious advanced collector.
