Vintage Policia Auxiliar Mexico DF Badge – Brass with Screw Post (1950s-60s)

Authentic Mid-Century Police Insignia

This brass badge (71.4mm long) was issued to officer #3382 of the Policía Auxiliar del Distrito Federal (Mexico City Auxiliary Police) during the 1950s-60s. The screw-post fastener and heavy brass construction reflect the era’s durable craftsmanship.

Key Features:

Material: Solid brass with minor oxidation (authentic vintage patina)

Features:

"Policía Auxiliar" or "DF" insignia (specific to Mexico City)

Serial number "3382" for officer identification

Fastener: Original screw-post backing for secure uniform attachment

Rarity: Auxiliary police badges from this period are scarce due to department reorganizations

Historical Context:

The Policía Auxiliar supported Mexico City’s main police force with traffic control, public events, and patrols.

Badges from this era often lacked enamel (unlike later versions), emphasizing utilitarian brass construction.

Part of Mexico’s mid-century public safety expansion, predating the 1990s Federal Police reforms.

Condition Notes:

Used: Surface scratches and tarnish consistent with age

No damage: Screw post intact, legible numbering

Unrestored: Preserves original finish

• Mexican law enforcement memorabilia collectors

• Mid-century militaria displays
